Chapter records indicate
that most of the charter members "established new lines" with their
applications, necessitating a considerable amount of communication between the
chapter and NSDAR Headquarters.
The charter members chose to name their
chapter to honor their home town of Vidalia rather than for a person or place
associated with the Revolutionary War.
Today, chapter members reside in
the nearby towns and communities of Ailey, Alston, Lyons, Mt. Vernon,
Reidsville, Soperton, Tarrytown, and Uvalda, as well as Vidalia. In addition, a
number of chapter members live outside of the local area.
